About Me

Becky Berry Active Listening Therapy

I am passionate about well-being

My name is Becky Berry and I’m based near Ilkley in West Yorkshire and am Mum to two girls.

I am trained as an Active Listener and Pastoral Worker, and have been working in my community for the last 10 years with groups as well as one-to-one, and have gained valuable experience and insight into working alongside people of all ages as they navigate the challenges of life.

For a number of years I have worked in my local primary school leading a Self Esteem and Confidence course for Year 5 and 6 pupils and I also work regularly with a group of teenagers from Years 7 to 13.

I am also the co-founder and trustee of a well-being charity that responds to the issue of loneliness in older people in my community by offering support, social activities and events on a regular basis.

3 years ago I set up a Community Listening Ear service and as a Listener I work with the Counsellors of my local GP surgery, doctors and the social prescriber who regularly refer patients to me.

I work as a Listener in partnership with counsellors in a weekly drop in Wellbeing Hub for adults in my community.

I am passionate about well-being, and have seen that being heard properly can give back clarity and control in times of feeling burdened and confused.
